Circle in the Water (The Arts)
The Creative Arts faculty is a unique faculty because it is dedicated to both academic performance and artistic performance. Circle in the Water is a name that we have given to identify and celebrate all arts performances and events from the Art, Drama, Film and Music departments. The name represents Hong Kong island as well as the image of concentric circles that form when something impacts the water. Our creative arts students are the circles making the impact and spreading creativity throughout the school. Through Circle in the Water our aim is to give students the opportunity to experience the arts in their total form. This means any student who participates in performance or showcases their artistic design to a public audience is immediately associated with this school-based company. We encourage our students to be part of this group either as a performer, designer, producer, manager or artistic director. Every arts event initiated by teachers or students will be a Circle in the Water production. It is an exciting venture that influences and impacts the future direction of creativity and the Creative Arts at West Island School.
