WIS at the Battle of Books

Battle of the Book (BOB) is an after school activity for students in Years 7 to 9. BOB introduces students to a variety outstanding fiction books that they may not have previously had access to.

Over the space of the year, students read 20 books and then come together each week to ‘battle’ in teams to answer questions about each of the books.

Across Hong Kong, over 30 secondary schools and almost 60 primary schools participate in BOB. Each year, this number is growing as schools and students realize the amazing opportunity that participating in BOB provides.

Yesterday, 12 members of the WIS BOB team competed in one of five semi- finals at DBIS. The team did remarkably well and placed second – only the first team have the chance to compete in the finals against winners of the other four semi-finals.

Congratulations to the WIS team and thanks to Ms Leonne and Ms Kam for all their support.

Keep an eye open over the next few weeks as the list of books for next year will be released shortly. Students can sign up for next year’s BOB will happen via the Gateway in September.
