2017 Year 9 Personal Project Exhibition
As part of the Learning for Life course, Year 9 students completed the Personal Project, an inquiry based task which allows students to investigate an area of particular interest or significance to them. The topics ranged from ancient weaponry to the physique of ballet dancers.
On Tuesday, Year 9 students were given the opportunity to celebrate the end of the project and present their meaningful and unique outcomes to the West Island Community. Parents, teachers, other West Island School students as well as Year 6 students from Kennedy School were invited to the exhibition.
Our Year 9 students’ enthusiasm and depth of knowledge was evident across the board. They were truly ‘experts’ in their chosen area of interest. As part of the audience, it was an enthralling experience listening to their presentations. The confidence of their delivery was remarkable, with some students taking it a step further challenging their audience by questioning the knowledge gained after their delivery. The exhibition was a great way for them to showcase their hard work and in their words “a fun way to celebrate the end of our project.”
Well done Year 9. The Learning for Life team couldn’t be more proud.
