Evening of Dance at WIS

This year at the Evening of Dance, various different styles of dance were presented by students at West Island School. These students are part of: Wired/Momentum Dance Co., GCSE Dance, BTEC Dance and IB Dance courses. There were a number of dances that were beautifully choreographed by the students in collaboration with Ms Hudson. The GCSE dancers based their choreographies on Still Life at the Penguin Cafe, a ballet choreographed by David Bintley in 1988. BTEC dancers performed various styles including Bhangra and Rock n Roll which were full of energy and colour. IB dancers performed their solo composition exam pieces that they had choreographed individually. Lastly, the school’s dance company, Wired/Momentum, performed the haunting ‘Malificent‘, a piece of contemporary choreography about the fight between good and evil.

It was an incredibly successful event with all participating students displaying their passion, dedication and admiration for all variations of dance.

Thank you to Ms Hudson for her constant support to the students and for organising the evening.
