Principal’s Message
Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Friends of WIS,
Welcome back from the Easter holidays! I do hope you had a good break and much family time.
We were pleased to welcome back students from the annual ski trip which occurred over the holidays. My thanks to Mr Blake Harding and Ms Sara Ellison in giving up their holiday time to lead this opportunity for students.
Our first week has already been eventful as we hosted the Principal candidates for WIS at the school. The process is a rigorous one with candidates observing lessons, meeting community members and interviewing with a number of stakeholders on your behalf, as well as presenting to the community.
ESF will inform us and you of the outcome in due course.
I am very proud of the school as the two candidates have gone through this process and happy to hear their positive comments about WIS. They know the school is a strong one, which they can build on further into the future. I was particularly pleased to hear their comments about the students they met who they perceived as motivated and proud of their school. My thanks to everyone who has contributed.
We are also heading towards the end of the Year 13’s time at WIS with graduation next week and then IB and ID final exams and finally, assessments following soon after. Year 11 are also heading into their last week before their IGCSE examinations and their graduation is scheduled shortly too. We wish them every success.
I will be in the school for the IB and ID results in July to ensure that students are looked after in terms of university entry as usual before I formally leave.
Yours,
Jane
