Johns Hopkins Centre for Talented Youth – PARENT INFORMATION EVENING
Dear Parents,
As you may already be aware, West Island School liaises with a number of external organisations to support our most gifted and talented students.
One such organisation is the Johns Hopkins Centre for Talented Youth (CTY), which offers challenging summer and online programmes for students in Years 3 – 9 based on the results of the SCAT Advanced Test – an above-grade-level assessment designed to provide insight into student’s potential.
Recently, West Island was proud to announce that Year 8 Student Aditya Shrisankaraan’s scores have secured him the Grand Honors award, only given to the top 1% of the 35,000 candidates who take the test annually.
If you would like further information regarding the opportunities offered at the Johns Hopkins Centre for Talented Youth, you are welcome to attend an information evening run by Beatrix Li, Deputy to the East Asia Director of CTY from 5pm – 6pm on Thursday 8 September in A500. Beatrix will provide first-hand information about CTY programmes, including their benefits to the students and how to qualify.
Please RSVP to https://centerfortalentedyouth.formstack.com/forms/wis_information_session_rsvp on or before 5th September to confirm your attendance.
Thank you,
Ms Kitson
