BTEC Students Visit Pearl Lam Gallery
On Monday 26 September, the Year 12 and Year 13 BTEC ART students visited Pearl Lam Gallery in Sheung Wan. There they met the British-Balinese artist Sinta Tantra who is currently exhibiting there and who introduced them to her work. Sinta is a critically acclaimed artist who has shown her paintings and public artworks around the world. During the first part of the workshop she got the students reflecting upon her work and how art can be perceived differently depending upon the space and environment where it placed. She also talked about the importance of choosing and playing around with different materials when creating artworks.
During the second part of the workshop our students got to paint up some abstract shapes on cardboard using the household paints and colored vinyl that Sinta uses in her own work. The workshop ended with the students photographing their pieces in different environments.
Thank you to Pearl Lam Gallery for hosting our BTEC students.
