Dovera Charity Show – A Evening of Fashion & Charity

Dovera is a charity fashion show, a nonprofit fundraising event that the team: Luis, Rydah, Carlotta and Diya built from scratch. The aim of this event was to give back to the wider community, and at the same time present our love for fashion and design. It was amazing working with like-minded individuals and watching each aspect of the show come together. Being able to positively influence the community by using Dovera to support a good cause was extremely rewarding. We worked with a variety of amazing brands, student designers, talented performers and models from a range of ESF schools.

The actual show took place on the evening of Saturday 3 March and was very successful, achieving way beyond the goals we set out. Dovera has not only been incredibly fun but also a huge learning experience for all of us. We learned a variety of new skills and gained new experiences, we had the ability to not only get an insight into the pressures of the real world but also make amazing new friendships that we will keep with us for a long time.

Although the show was great the process wasn’t always that easy. There were so many times we didn’t even know whether the show would go on. The stress of the show didn’t only come from the need for it to be successful but also from trying to balance it with our academic obligations. Each member of the team had their own strengths and watching each person thrive in their own area was exactly what we wanted to get out of the show. The outcome was definitely worth all the long nights and weekends spent at school.

The show could not have gone on with all the incredible students and staff that came together to be a part of it, our models, designers and performers are the ones who made the night what it was. On behalf of the team we are so thankful for everyone that helped us achieve our goals and made the experience so memorable.
