As an IB World School, we prepare our students to achieve their personal best through a world-class education tailored to each of their potential and needs.
As part of the English Schools Foundation(ESF), our students are supported by the largest English-medium international school organisation in Hong Kong, providing them the resources and opportunities not found outside of ESF Schools.
West Island School's Years 7 to 9 follow the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), offering a challenging and practical learning framework that supports students' transition and integration into the secondary school community, building a solid foundation of critical thinking and global mindedness for the middle and senior years.
In Years 10 and 11, West Island School offers a common curriculum and elective subjects, preparing students for I/GCSE exams while providing guidance for future pathways both local and abroad.
In Years 12 and 13, West Island School offers three pathways, the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), the IB Career-related Programme (IBCP), BTEC, and the International Diploma to give students agency in their studies based on their learning style and aspirations while fostering a well-rounded and global-minded outlook through leadership and community involvement.

Without the support of the school community and, in particular, the teachers who led the Most Competitive Pathway programme (MCP), I would have not come close to achieving my higher education goals. They noticed the potential and guided me towards a destination that I never thought was possible.

WIS has been an incredible place of growth and learning for both my boys, who have different strengths and interests and yet have thrived both academically and personally under the positive and inclusive system of the school, where every child is nurtured, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

🌏✨Twelve students traveled to Hanoi, Vietnam for the United Nations International School of Hanoi Model United Nations from March 5 to 8. They represented various countries, debating global issues in the Human Rights Council and in the Security Council. This experience honed their critical thinking and public speaking skills, offering insights into international politics.
A highlight was meeting the real Danish Delegation from the Security Council, where students asked about NATO and Greenland, witnessing real political deliberations. The conference talent show was a hit, featuring Mr. Allen's incredible saxophone performance. 🌟
Beyond the conference, students enjoyed a Vietnamese water puppet show and countless bowls of pho. They made friends from around the world, including Cambodia and Vietnam. 🌍🎉
