Ethan Saw at The Cambridge Schools Debating Championship

On 25 & 26 November 2017, I took part in the Asian Schools British Parliamentary Championship (ABC – China round) hosted at Dulwich College Shanghai by the Cambridge Union Society in partnership with Capstone Educational Group.

ABC hosts the official Asian regional rounds of Cambridge Schools Debate, being the world’s most prestigious parliamentary debating competition at the schools level.

After four intensive preliminary rounds of debate, my team was ranked 10th out of 77 participating teams and came top of the tab of all Hong Kong teams. Hence, we are the first Hong Kong team this year to qualify for the Cambridge Schools Debating Championship Finals at Cambridge University, UK in February 2018. We will therefore represent Hong Kong in the finals of the Cambridge Schools Debating Championship.

I have long aspired to take part in the finals of the Cambridge Schools Debating Championship in the UK and speak at the Cambridge Union chamber. I am very excited and looking forward to go to the finals in February 2018.
