Guidance and Counselling at WIS
Dear Parents,
During our Guidance and Achievement assemblies over the last few weeks, Heads of Year provided students with important information on keeping safe, and shared advice on what to do should they or a young person they know, feel compromised or placed in a vulnerable situation.
The information shared in these assemblies can be found in an online booklet called ’Guidance for Young People about Adults you work with’, should you wish to discuss these issues at home. You can also find it on our website (www.wis.edu.hk) under ‘Learning at WIS’ – Guidance and Achievement section.
Please note that Year 7 have a second assembly after Horizons week about Online Grooming and ways to keep safe online.
Sometimes, a young person may need more specialist guidance from a trained counsellor in addition to the support they receive from their tutor or Head of Year. For further information on the counseling provision at West Island, please refer to our online guide ‘A guide to the Counselling Services provided at West Island School‘.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Clare Haworth
