Haydn Ching Excels in Karting Championships!
Over the Easter break, Haydn Ching (Year 10) participated in the Hong Kong Karting Championship (HKKC) and represented Hong Kong at the Asia Karting Open Championship (AKOC).
The HKCC race was held in Zhuzhou and included 3 days of practice, two heats of 9 laps, with the final being a 18 laps race. With his hard work during the 3 days of practice, he persisted and managed to stay with the leaders throughout the final race. He missed being the winner by a mere 0.037 seconds.
The AKOC race was held at the Beijing Red 1 Karting circuit and attracted participants from Italy, Germany, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong and China. Despite a setback and a collision, Haydn managed to finish the 20 laps race as the 4th runner up.
Overall, Haydn came home with as the runner up at the HKKC championship and fourth runner up at the AKOC. Both events are well recognised and Haydn is a recipient of financial support from the HK government for his race in the Asia Karting Open Championship.
