IB Geography Trip to Northern Thailand
On Friday 17 March, sixteen IB students traveled to Northern Thailand as a part of the IB curriculum.
Students explored two separate forest areas: primary forest and cultivated forest. At these two locations, students charted out designated areas where they worked in groups and looked carefully at the impact of slash and burn agriculture on the soil. They collected samples, conducted tests and then headed back to the classroom at the Mae Kok Village Education Centre where they were able to analyse these results and draw conclusions.
Students also took part in a number of activities ranging from archery to rock climbing and confidence courses. Students were also given the chance to visit a traditional hill tribe village.
Our thanks to Mr Murchie, Ms Mulchandani and entire staff at the Mae Kok Village Education Centre who were integral in making this week a grand success.
