Inter-Dynasty Cross Country 2018 comes to a rocking finish!

It was the moment we had all been waiting for! The WIS Inter-Dynasty Cross Country took place on Wednesday 31 October.

The event saw over 600 runners taking part in this whole school Dynasty event, which made for a fantastic atmosphere. Every runner contributed to the overall Dynasty score, gaining a Dynasty point when they crossed the finish line. Additionally, the top 8 finishers from each Dynasty counted towards the overall placings.

With the drop in humidity, the weather proved perfect for this year’s event, with many runners producing personal bests throughout the age groups. There were also a couple of records broken too! Fantastic achievements by Ashley Grantham for setting up a new record for Year 7 girls; Lila Man for breaking the Year 8 girls record and Rafe Man who is the new Year 11 boys record holder with a very impressive time of 8:15:00 over a 2.5 km course. Big congratulations to the winners and well done to everyone involved and for representing their Dynasties! 

Han were crowned champions for 2018. It was also fantastic to see some of our staff putting on their trainers and representing their Dynasties. A big well done to Ms Haworth, Mr Williams, Mr Gilchrist, Mr Hewson, Ms Boesenberg and Ms Gossage.
