Inter Dynasty Maths Competition 2017

On Thursday 31 August, during Period 3 assembly, the six dynasties at WIS took to the Sports Hall to participate in the ID Maths Competition, a battle of speed of mathematical processing and running ability!

Two teams from each Dynasty representing each year group competed to answer as many questions correctly on all things Maths and build up their Dynasty scores. Over 200 students took part in a highly energised and positively enthralling battle of Mathematical ability alongside running up and down the Sports Hall to collect and enter their questions and answers. There was adding, there was subtracting, multiplying and dividing, sweating, gasping and ultimately a whole load of team work!

Qing led throughout with Han and Yuan hot on their heels. Through a combined effort from all year groups Qing eventually held on to score the highest total score and be crowned WIS ID Maths champions for 2017.

Well done to all participants and the Maths teachers for controlling the answers under strict regulations. A great atmosphere from the whole school and we look forward to next years competition already!
