Karrie Clark Sails into the New Year!
Well done to Karrie Clark (Year 9) who over the term break participated in the 29er Pre-Worlds and World Championships which were held in Hong Kong. The event saw the top 29er teams from 11 nations competing for the title.
The Pre-Worlds saw Karrie finish 2nd overall with the light conditions favouring her.
The Worlds was split into two events, the qualifying series and the final series. Karrie finished the qualifying series in 9th position allowing her to proceed into the gold fleet for the final series. Sadly the weather conditions were not so kind for the finals, with the strong winds just too much for Karrie to handle. However, she completed every race and finished 26th overall, 1st mixed team and the youngest helm to qualify for Gold fleet.
Well done to Karrie on a huge achievement and great results – what a great start to the year!
