Mike Gatting and Oscar Coggins visiting WIS!
West Island School is excited and gearing up to welcome two well-known personalities this month – Mike Gatting OBE the legendary cricketer and former England cricket captain, and Oscar Coggins, two-times Asian Junior Champion and the current Hong Kong National Triathlon Champion!
Mike Gatting will visit WIS on Monday 26 November from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm. This will be his second visit to the school and an honour for us to welcome him again. There will be a Meet & Greet opportunity for all WIS students and parents this time from 2:30pm-3:00pm. This will be followed by an interactive session where our budding cricketers will have an opportunity to learn about his experiences and get insights from his cricketing career. Interested students and parents are requested to RSVP for this session so that it can be organised better.
Oscar Coggins will lead a training session with WIS students on Tuesday 27 November from 06:50 am – 8:00 am, at the school pool. This is a must attend session for the many budding swimmers, runners and cyclists at WIS, as he will not only share his experience but also demonstrate! Interested students please RSVP for this event. Parents are welcome to watch from the pool balcony.
Oscar Coggins has had a very positive run so far in the 2018 season, most notably winning the Junior Elite Asian Championships for the second year in a row, achieving his first senior win at the Almaty Asian Cup and finishing 6th at the Junior World Championships. Oscar aims to continue to build on his results to qualify for the 2020 Olympics.
West Island School looks forward to welcoming the two stalwarts to its campus! Hope to see you there too!
Thank you,
Mr Richard Lant
