More WIS Successes at HK Music Festival

West Island is proud to announce outstanding results for two more students who have placed well at the 68th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival.

Year 10 student Rachel Kan placed 2nd in the Piano Solo round. She received a Merit for her rendition of Quatre Contes, Op 26 No 1 – N Medtner. Adjudicator, Professor Julian Jacobson, added Rachel’s playing was “Responsive and cultured…a pleasure to hear.”

Additionally, Year 11 student Justin Ng received a Merit for his piece which he played using the traditional Chinese Zheng – a string instrument.
