Ms Schroder in SCMP: “Eating like HK Refugee”
Congratulations to Ms Schroder who was featured in the SCMP over the weekend talking about an incredible experience.
Ms Schroder has been working with and fundraising for Free to Run, a charity that provides outdoor sports opportunities and mentoring for women and girls affected by war and conflict. Additionally, she has been firsthand experiencing how refugees seeking asylum live with a daily allowance of $40 HKD for food and a weekly allowance of $50 HKD for transport.
Mr Schroder also leads a Thursday evening running group as a volunteer for the charity, which she joined earlier this year knowing little about the status of refugees in Hong Kong. She said, “I was trying to think of something I could do that was a bit different to raise money, but I also wanted to make sure I raised awareness while doing it.”
Well done to Ms Schroder on a fantastic achievement. You can read the entire article here.
