Ocean Art Walk 2016

Working with 500 young people and artists, the Ocean Art Walk team will create hundreds of plastic fish sculptures, installations and stage performances.  This creative project encourages young people to recycle and avoid using single-use and disposable plastics.

WIS students have been invited by Gareth Dunster from Brand X, to join this exciting environmental awareness project. We are asking students to bring in as many plastic carrier bags as possible, next week and drop them in the bags in the front foyer. These bags will be used to create a huge articulated fish that will be entered in the Ocean Art Walk 2016 which takes place at Stanley Plaza from April 1 to 24 this year. This project is a wonderful opportunity for WIS students to raise environmental awareness and some lucky students will have the opportunity to be involved in the creation of the fish at school after Chinese New Year.

Please bring your plastic bags to school next week. All colours, shapes, sizes and even ripped ones will be most welcome. We need thousands of bags so please help us!
