Principal’s Message

Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Friends of WIS, 

Happy New Year to you all!

As ever, a number of students participated in the HKRFC New Year’s Day tournament for the National Age Group competitions. A large number of male and female students from WIS were selected and a particular moment of pride for the three Carmichael brothers who were all involved during the day. Russell for U12 Island, Robert U16 Dragons and Cameron U19 Lions. Well done to you all.

Whilst most of us were sitting back with family and friends, Virginie Ding continued in her success and has been selected to represent Hong Kong in the HSBC Golf China Junior Open during Chinese New Year. Her selection has come from three consecutive successful golf tournaments during the Christmas vacation in Macau, Jakarta and Hong Kong.  

Anastasia was equally busy as Clärchen, one of the major roles and a solo act of “The Nutcracker” which continued during the holiday. Performances throughout Christmas have met with acclaim and we are very proud of the effort and hard work which Anastasia employs. Well-earned success.

It is going to be short and sweet before the next time of celebration in Hong Kong. A reminder that you can be ahead of the preparation by purchasing West Island School Lai See packets – they are beautifully designed and proceeds will help us in the development of our auditorium and swimming pool over the summer break.

Now, time for Inter Dynasty Sports to finish the week nicely.
