Principal’s Message
Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Friends of WIS,
Firstly this week, I wish to congratulate the eight candidates who bravely put themselves forward for head student this year. The process is a rigorous one which includes submitting an application letter for shortlisting purposes, a speech to the school and interviews with the current head students and myself.
The outcome was based on all four of these processes through a student and staff preference poll and individual rankings alongside for the interviews.
The eight candidates were:
- Alexandra Churchill
- Caitlin Neuville
- Dustin Wong
- Patrick McCool
- Puru Pahuja
- Sanon Liu
- Shreya Rane
- Zarah Tesfai
I was extremely proud of each candidate’s performance and delighted with the caliber of all eight. They are superb students and will go far.
I am pleased to announce that from immediately after Chinese New Year, our Head Student Team will be:
- Alexandra Churchill
- Dustin Wong
- Patrick McCool
- Shreya Rane
Congratulations to the final team for 2016 to 2017.
We also began this week our process of recruitment for August 2016 onwards in terms of teaching staff and I will be working with my colleagues to ensure a good crop of new talent into the school.
The process to find my successor for August also begins in earnest and the school council will be apprised of the process to date next Monday. ESF will keep the community informed of the search as it unfolds into a final selection.
Finally, I would like to thank parents for talking to your child about wearing their WIS uniform with pride. As the cold weather descends this weekend please ensure they wear layers under their uniform next week to keep warm.
