Principal’s Message

Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Friends of WIS,

This week, Spring finally arrived with warmer weather and brighter skies.

The short week was a very eventful one. WIS came second in the Junior Maths Challenge with our team beating all other ESF schools in this inter-school competition which was a superb result. My thanks to Ms Amy Fu for accompanying them. We also came second in the final of the Battle of the Books across international schools, so a big congratulations to that team too who represented WIS with pride at DBIS. Ms Leone is to be thanked for her commitment to the team.

We would like to also acknowledge Xaviera Artaza, who is nominated for a Human Rights Press Award that will be awarded tonight at the Maritime Museum. Her story was featured on the cover of the Harbour Times and examines the struggles faced by non-ethnic Chinese in getting a quality education in Hong Kong leading to a lifetime of discrimination and disadvantage. You can read her story here. Congratulations Xaviera on a remarkable achievement and good luck for tonight!

As we head gradually to term end, can I ask that you consider supporting the community spirit of WIS by purchasing our year book WISDOM 2016. This is my last edition at WIS and promises to be a bumper one. Please click here for details on how to order.

Also, could I ask that if you intend to take your child out of WIS at the end of term, that you give us plenty of notice. We have a waiting list for most year groups and anxious parents awaiting places. Thank you.

Yours,

Jane
