Principal’s Message
Dear Parents, Staff, Students and Friends of WIS,
Last Friday, a number of student Digital Leaders took part in the 21st Century Learning Conference. Speaking in the region’s largest annual event which brings educators from all over the globe, students talked about their work, their thoughts on learning with and through technology and what they imagine the future to be. We were also able to host Teachers of Special Educational Needs and Technology Teachers as part of the conference to see our facilities and ways of working.
Congratulations to Andrew Chan (8T2) who has continued to enjoy success in his Taekwondo; last week he won the runner-up position in a competition held at Poomsae. I’m delighted to share that Gayathri, Leia and Kenton have also been shortlisted as finalists for this year’s Hong Kong Young Writers Award. To have three finalists from our school is a fantastic achievement and a real credit to everybody who submitted their story or poetry works. These three students will attend the finalists ceremony on 21 March to recognise their achievements.
ESF’s Got Talent and plenty to share around. This Saturday in the Grappa’s Cellar, musicians and performers from across our schools will raise money for Jockey Club Sarah Roe School. You would be welcome to join us and listen to a range of musical styles for a good cause.
Finally, good luck to the Scouts. They embark on the overnight 100km trail tonight with Mr More and the Scout Leaders, a great challenge for the weekend. Somebody tells me that Mrs Craig is trying to beat a personal best overnight also…..
Yours,
Christopher Sammons
(Principal)
