Remind App at WIS

Parents may have recently received on your school email a notification to join West Island School on Remind. Remind is a free smartphone and web messaging app that assists in sending secure electronic notifications to students and parents.

Remind has proven to be a very effective tool for keeping parents securely updated on their child’s field trip(s).  As such West Island School has decided to use this tool as the primary notification tool for all our Horizons Week activities taking place in November 2016.

Remind has a very intuitive interface, very similar in style to WhatsApp and is easy to use. It is expected that Remind will be used as the primary notification channel when updating parents on a Horizons Week activity’s progress, e.g. safe arrival at destination, travel updates, images posts.

Currently it is the intention to only use Remind for Horizons Week notifications.  We will of course evaluate its use for other school functions after receiving feedback.

We would still encourage you to follow and share the various Horizons Week and School Activities by searching and using the hashtags #wis_hk and #wis_hw2016 on your preferred social media feed(s).
