Revision Skills Workshop for Year 11
Dear Parents,
Further to Mrs Haworth’s letter outlining academic deadlines in which we detailed a Revision Skills Workshop, I am writing to invite you to this practical event at West Island School for you and your child on Monday 30 October from 6pm-7pm.
The evening will be led by Ms Goodwin, Head of Year 11 and members of the Guidance and Achievement team covering the following areas to support your child prepare for their mock examinations:
– Organising effective revision
– Practical tips to help your child approach their revision and studies
– Supporting your child in setting achievable goals
The aim is to ensure that students have a range of revision skills and tools which they can draw upon to make the most effective use of their time.
The evening will help students prepare for the mock examinations which take place from the 20 November to 1 December. For your information this workshop also builds upon the recent 1-2-1 session where your child has spent time analysing their parents evening feedback and identifies areas which they need to specifically focus on. This will help to ensure that revision and preparation remains targeted and focused.
Year 11 can be challenging not only for our students as they work towards their final exams but also for families. It is our sincere aim to support you and your child through this demanding but also exciting time.
Please indicate your intended participation by filling in the Google form located here.
If you have any questions, please do let me know.
Kind regards,
Mr Hewson
