Special Mention: Naomi Tang

West Island is very proud to announce that Year 11 student Naomi Tang has been named a Grand Finalist for the Radio & Television Hong Kong (RTHK) “The Speaker” competition. Naomi was selected from 108 applicants from all over Hong Kong who took part in the first round of the competition in which contestants had to deliver a 3 minute filmed speech on the topic of environmental protection. Naomi will be competing in the Grand Final for the title of “Speaker of the Year” on 21 February. Our thanks to Mr Reed who has been coaching Naomi Tang, Victor Tam and Selena Wang for this competition since December.

The Grand Final takes place on February 21. We wish Naomi the very best of luck!
