Speech Day Successes for WIS
Congratulations to Year 10 student Gayatri Bhatia. She won first place in her year group securing 90 marks at the 67th Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival conducted by the HKSMSA on 23 November 2015 for her solo speech on ‘Robots, Friend or Foe’.
Also, congratulations to Year 10 student Jefferson Cheung who placed as the 2nd runner up at the same festival. He read for the English Solo Verse Speaking competition and performed an extract from ‘An Alien Ate My Homework’ by Kaye Umansky. Adding to his bag of successes, Jefferson also participated in the Shakespeare Monologue, Non-Open competition, and again placed 2nd runner up. He recited an extract from Cassius in ‘Julius Caesar’, Act 1 Scene 2.
In addition, Year 9 student, Victor Tam, also participated in the 67th HK Speech Festival and participated in the Solo Verse Speaking & Solo Prose Reading. He placed 2nd in Solo Verse Speaking and 1st place in Solo Prose Reading.
