U20 Football Jing Ying Championships 2017

The WIS U20 Football squad qualified for the Jing Ying Championships after a very successful HKSSF season finishing second in Division 1. This competition brings together the best of the best in Hong Kong and is the highest level of football competition in the city.

The squad was made up of mainly A-Grade players however added to by the presence of Edward Mak from B-Grade playing up a level.

Qualifying for a bye in the first round WIS moved quickly through round two and three with impressive wins totaling up 14 goals in two games (with Alex JoJo netting 8 of them) and conceding zero. The semi finals saw WIS scheduled against last years champions and after a competitive match that ended 1-1 unfortunately the squad lost out to penalties in a close fought shoot out.

It’s all to play for in the 3v4 finals and it has been an extremely successful season for the boys this year.

Well done to all that have taken part.

Our thanks to Mr Harding for his coaching and supporting the team!
