Vani woos audiences with her performance at the Indian Arts Circle

West Island School Year 7 student Vani Kaul mesmerised audiences at the Indian Arts Circle Hong Kong’s multi-talent competition last month, with a beautiful performance of the Indian Classical Dance ‘Kathak’, that earned her the 2nd prize!

‘Kathak’ is an art of storytelling, formed through music, text, and vocals, accompanied by swift, rhythmic footwork and intricate time cycles.  Vani’s 3-minute performance was a rendition of stories of the popular Hindu God – Krishna, and his fondness for stealing homemade butter from his mother’s kitchen, along with his friends!
