WIS at ISSFHK Netball
West Island School entered 4 teams into the ISSFHK Netball league this year in Term 3. The competition was more fierce than previous years and we were very proud to make both finals.
The U14’s played AIS and narrowly lost against a team who were determined to get their own back after beating them in the HKSSF finals.
Kiera Brain is here to tell you what happened in the U12 Finals against Harrow, up against a home crowd.
The A team netball finals were amazing and it was the perfect way how to finish of the netball season.
The first quarter was not easy and we got to really see how good our opponent were. Even though it was the first quarter no players went easy and everybody played their best. At the end of the first quarter the score was tied at 4-4.
The second quarter was just as good and again everybody tried their best and put there %100 in the game. At the end of the second quarter, the score was tied again at 9-9.
It started to get a bit harder when we got to the third quarter, but we still played great and we knew that if we wanted to win then we had to play harder. Again at the end if the third quarter the score was tied at 12-12.
The last quarter was really tough and everybody was pushing themselves to the limits and was play the best they had played all year. It was a really tight game and as soon as the our opponents would score, we would score too. This went on until the last two minutes when they got one extra in and then the whistle blew and the game was over. They had won by one point (18-19).
The WIS team played extremely well and it was a great final.
Well done to all!
Ms Luck
