WIS at Jing Ying Cross Country Championship Race
On Saturday 22 October 10 of West Island School’s finest cross country runners braved the aftermath of the recent Typhoon to represent WIS at the Jing Ying Cross Country race at the Shing Mun Reservoir in Sha Tin.
Seen as the ‘best of the best’ with regards to the level of competition the following students took part in the 5km race for girls and 7km race for boys: Shreya Rane, Evangeline Ng, Jasmine Drew, Amy Tao, Erin Brown, Rafe Man, Swiss Duangthip, Christian Drew, Matthew Tan and Clayton Gibb.
A tough course on a tough morning pushed all athletes to their maximum. All students represented the school superbly and we are very proud of them all. Highlight finishes included Amy Tao in 2nd place and Erin Brown in 4th qualifying them both for the Interport School Championships representing Hong Kong in an overseas competition in China taking place early December 2016.
Top runner in for the boys was Clayton Gibb finishing strongly in 14th position.
Well done all runners!
