WIS’ Double Success at ESF Rugby 7s Tournament
On Friday 27 September, West Island School took part in the Inaugural ESF Secondary Schools Rugby 7s Tournament, held at Kings Park. It was a great opportunity for ESF to showcase the rugby talent from across our foundation of schools.
West Island School travelled with a C Grade Boys and B Grade Boys squad. The tournament was structured around allocated pools, with each team playing each other three times, with the team topping the pool to be crowned champions.
The C Grade boys were impressive from the start, going from strength to strength as the tournament went on; developing technically and tactically in their sevens play. Out of the nine games played, WIS won all but one, and were crowned C Grade champions.
The B Grade were again outstanding, going undefeated all tournament and showing how much talent they possess in this age group. There were some excellent individual performances along with a fantastic display of teamwork throughout, lighting up the competition and were crowned B Grade Boys winners on the day.
Overall, WIS enjoyed a fantastic day of rugby at Kings Park and certainly celebrated the rugby talent we have at ESF.
Well done to all participants!
