WIS Inter Dynasty Athletics Finals (Sports Day)
Thursday 23 January 2020 from 9.00am to 1.30pm
Stanley Ho Sports Centre (HKU), Sha Wan Drive, Pokfulam
On Thursday 23 January, from 9.00am to 1.30pm West Island School will be holding the ID Athletics Finals at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). School will finish at 1.30pm and school buses will collect students from the above venue.
Students in Year 7 to Year 13 will be involved in the athletics and there will be over 1500 opportunities for finalists.
All students will be awarded Dynasty points for taking part and for doing well in their particular activity. Athletics heats have taken place already and every student has had the chance to take part in up to three events. Points will then go towards the School Dynasty Shield which is presented annually to the winning Dynasty in June. Results of all heats are on the Sports Hall notice board and the programme and results can be viewed on the West Island School website here.
On Thursday 23 January, students should arrive at school and register as usual. They will then be escorted to the venue in tutor groups. Students will be permitted to wear their Dynasty colours that day and there will be an opportunity for everyone to ‘Run for a Point’ (a 400m/one lap run)
The PTA will also be supplying hospitality selling hot dogs, nachos, pasta bakes plus snacks, pot noodles, fruits, donuts, crisps, chocolates, soft drinks and beverages including tea and Nespresso coffee. Students are, however, also advised to bring some drinks and food for the day.
Students should bring the following:
- Water in a non-glass container
- PE kit and Sports cap
- Sun cream
- Drinks and food
Staff and students welcome the support of parents for all or part of the day.
