WIS Library: Oxford Art Online

In 2003, Oxford University Press began to publish the 34 volume Grove Encyclopedia of Art in an online form and this became known as Grove Art Online.

Oxford Art Online is an amalgamation of Grove Art Online and Benezit Dictionary of Artists.

The Benezit Dictionary of Artists contains over 170,000 entries and is distinguished by its coverage of both lesser-known and famed artists, images of artists’ signatures, historical auction records, and lists of museum holdings.

Oxford Art Online is updated regularly with new artists being added and revising of current articles taking place.
