Year 7 Students Receive Golden Bauhinia Award
On Sunday 30 October, three Year 7 students: Kris Childs (7H1) Alicia Tran (7Q2) and Marco Cheung (7H1) received their Golden Bauhinia Awards from Jeffrey Ma, the Chief Justice of Hong Kong at the Scout Rally, the annual event was presided over by Hong Kong’s Chief Executive, CY Leung.
The Golden Bauhinia Award is the highest award which can be achieved by Cub Scouts in Hong Kong and usually takes two years for Cubs to work towards, this award which includes challenges like climbing, archery, camping, night hikes and building fires.
It is the first time that students at WIS have achieved this prestigious award. They received certificates and gold embroidered badges which they can wear on their scout uniforms in recognition of their efforts and achievement.
Well done to all three students on a huge achievement and for representing WIS Cubs so well!
